Jessica Paré, Nina Dobrev, and Malin Akerman go metallic at the 2012 Met Costume Gala

Canada's screen sirens showed off their mettle at the annual Met ball last night by opting to wear -- what else? -- metal.

"Mad Men" breakout star Jessica Paré, "Vampire Diaries" vixen Nina Dobrev, and Malin Akerman of "Wanderlust" all wore metallic dresses to the most fashionable event of the year, the 2012 Met Costume Institute Gala in New York.

Paré, who was reportedly a guest of Tiffany & Co., wore the jewelry house's gems as well as a sparkling gold L'Wren Scott gown and shoes. The 29-year-old Montrealer also toted a Christian Louboutin bag.

Meanwhile, Dobrev dragged her long-trained gold and black Donna Karan Atelier gown behind her on her Jimmy Choo heels. The 23-year-old actress accessorized with H. Stern jewelry and a Judith Lieber clutch.

"On my way to the MET BALL...can't wait for everyone to see the dress! It's heavy... Haha," Dobrev tweeted Monday night.

Fellow Torontonian Akerman opted for a darker metal for her gunmetal-hued Diane Von Furstenberg dress. The 33-year-old blonde topped off her look with Christian Louboutin shoes and Fred Leighton jewelry.
